“What is the best free SMTP service?”

r/webhosting, 36 comments

By daily allowance Brevo's 300 a day is the largest of those checked; by monthly volume Resend's 3,000 is, but capped at 100 a day. SMTP2GO's free plan does not accept sign-ups from public addresses such as Gmail.

“SMTP relay alternative now that Google workspace no longer supports passwords?”

r/homelab, 51 comments

Brevo, Resend and SMTP2GO each provide SMTP relay credentials you can put in a device or app, on their free plans. Add the provider's SPF and DKIM records to your domain so mail is authenticated.

“Best platform for cheap email marketing?”

r/smallbusiness, 27 comments

Brevo prices by emails, not contacts: the free plan allows up to 100,000 contacts at 300 emails a day. MarkRelay sends broadcasts from your own Cloudflare account at $0.35 per 1,000 beyond 3,000, with no contact limit, but has no automation flows.

Contacts versus emails

Brevo's Free plan stores up to 100,000 contacts but sends 300 emails a day. On Starter the contact limit follows the email tier: 500 contacts at 5,000 emails a month, 1,500 at 10,000, 2,500 at 15,000, and up to 500,000 from 20,000 emails.

Where MarkRelay fits

A good fit when

  • App and team email on domains you already run on Cloudflare, sent and received in your own account.
  • Broadcasts to an imported list at Cloudflare's per-email price, with no contact tiers or logo add-on.
  • Mailboxes your team reads in webmail next to the API your app uses.

Look elsewhere when

  • Marketing automation flows, SMS, WhatsApp or a CRM: Brevo has them, MarkRelay does not.
  • Sign-up forms and landing pages hosted for you.
